Is this a faint positive on an FRER? Never used them before, AF due today.

Hi all
been feeling strange for the past 2 weeks. Can’t put my finger on it. AF due today. No sign yet but it’s still early.
I took advice from here and got some FRER tests from Amazon. I’ve done one this morning and unsure if I can see a faint shadow.
I’m going to retest again if AF doesn’t show but I had ‘normal’ periods with both my pregnancies for a couple of months before a positive 🤦🏼‍♀️
thanks

The picture is really blurry when I try to zoom in, could you try and post a clearer one from closer up?

Mumofto · 11/02/2025 10:25

yes will post one later. I’m at work now. Still no sign of AF… she is usually here by now but maybe just late this month 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Mumofto yes I see 2 lines

Mumofto · 11/02/2025 11:00

@murraymcgill hi. Thank you for replying.

i took one about a week ago as i had felt strange, cramping mid cycle etc. and it was just white… no sign of anything.

I took that one (photo attached) this morning as AF is supposed to be here but just got discharge at the moment!

I thought it would have been clearer with AF due. I’m going to order some more I think.

@Mumofto a few dayd you'll be sure it'll be more noticeable

Mumofto · 31/03/2025 19:05

This is how that test dried.

I done another and was negative so assumed nothing.

My period came but was pretty much brown discharge.

my tummy is now extremely bloated and I’ve had lines on 2 clear blue tests but FRER negative. I’ve got blood tests with the GP next week.

I started a new thread about this before 🙈 I don’t post much and forgot how to find my post.

Thanks all

I think I can see a shadow on the first response! These look promising too. The line had thickness to it, the dye though isn’t even. I’m super wary with clear blue- unless it’s a thick and full line. Are you sure of your dates? Just is AF was due right now, then I’d have thought it would be a very clear solid line? The clear blue digi ones are easier with no lines to interpret and I think they do them as an early result again too! Could you get one of those? X

pleasepackitin · 31/03/2025 21:34

I can see a line on both your frer pics

Mumofto · 31/03/2025 22:12

@jelliebean9 thank you. I don’t have the best eye sight as it is! AF is not due for 11 days! I think it’s from the last bleed if I am. I had bleeds until about 6 months with previous pregnancy’s.

@pleasepackitin thanks.. my eye sight is awful so wasn’t sure if there was anything there!

I have bloods booked next Tuesday

I would either use a digital or wait until the blood test. 11 days before your period is too early to get a positive (unless you ovulated very early), and the lines are very faint for being 6/7 weeks pregnant if going from the last one.
Try a digital. Then you don’t need to worry about interpreting potential evap lines.

Yes I agree with a digi. Although don’t fall into the trap of doing them to check progression, that causes all sorts of anxiety and sent me barmy
