6w1 empty sac

I’ve had this before without a good outcome, but searching for hope until my next scan.

I had a scan (both transabdominal and transvaginal) at 6w1 and nothing was found but a small empty sac. No yolk sac. No baby. I’m sure of my dates, give or take a day. Not enough to make a difference.

I know this is likely to be another blighted ovum, but does anyone have any miracle success stories they can share? 😔

What was the reason for the scan?

Are you still having positive tests?

At this stage - 6 weeks is very early. Being off a couple of days can be the difference between you seeing a fetal pole or not.

Just try to take it easy until your next scan and then you’ll know for sure. Good luck x

Early reassurance due to previous losses.

Thank you. My tests are very positive. Unfortunately, I know this doesn’t mean much at this stage as HCG can continue to rise even when pregnancy isn’t viable.

I know in my head and heart that this is another loss, but I just want to believe in a miracle. It’s taken me a very long time to get pregnant again, and I desperately want this baby. 😔

That seems to cause more anxiety than it does reassurance.

I would wait until 12 weeks and have a standard scan

Hey are you 6 weeks from ovulation or lmp? I had an early scan with my first and I was 7w2 from lmp but all they could see was a sac measuring between 5/6 weeks was just an abnormal scan but by my 12 week scan I was measuring 2 days ahead. I am pregnant again, went for abdominal scan at 7w and same again all they could se was a sac measuring 5 weeks (I ovulated exactly 5ws prior on the scan) so my midwife told me not too worry as early scans are not always accurate. I'm not worrying as it's happened before. I only went for an early scan this time because I'm pregnant straight after a miscarriage so the worry is always there.

I need early scans because of my history. I would rather know if a pregnancy is not viable sooner, rather than later.

Thanks, I was 6w1 from LMP but my cycles are regular and I know when I ovulated give or take a day as I was tracking.

I know it’s unlikely to to be a good outcome for me, but still I hope. I hope that all goes well with yours.

Been a bit crampy today and had some brown blood so think I’m starting to naturally miscarry. 😔
