Nosebleeds during pregnancy

Anyone get random nosebleeds during pregnancy? My nose is constantly blocked and I’ve been getting random nosebleeds most days. Not overly heavy just more annoying. I’m 29 weeks

I have! There’s always traces inside my nose. It’s v normal during pregnancy :)

Inabitofbother · 10/02/2025 09:46

Occasionally…apparently quite normal to have a few (how many are we talking?)

It’s one of those “trivial” symptoms that don’t get mentioned much.

Yes! By the third trimester I was getting random (and quite heavy!) nosebleeds several times a week, often in the office at work.
I found it amusing as a lifetime League Of Gentlemen fan - deadly nosebleeds were the main plot point of series two 😉

It is normal but also nosebleeds can be a sign of high blood pressure so would be worth contacting your midwife and getting checked just in case

Had a check up on Friday. Blood pressure is fine. I mentioned it but they didn’t seem too concerned. They aren’t heavy nosebleeds and it’s only out of one nostril which is weird

Ah yes, the lovely nosebleeds! I'm 33+3 and been getting random nosebleeds since about 24 weeks (also only out of one nostril).

Apparently 1 in 6 pregnant women suffer from them

Yes I got nose bleeds in the 3rd trimester mostly...I dont think anyone was bothered by it..but then it was covid and nobody paid much attention

Negangirlxx · 10/02/2025 11:09

Yes! I’ve never had nosebleeds, but had a few when pregnant, especially if I sneezed or blew my nose! (My blood pressure was always good, or slightly low, throughout my pregnancy so it’s not always due to high BP, but it’s always worth checking with the GP/Midwife, as it can be due to high BP.)

I’ve had low/normal blood pressure at all my appointments so I don’t think it’s that thankfully

Most days tbh. They don’t last long. Seem to just happen if I sneeze or blow my nose. I’m putting it down to the cold temps and dry air from being indoors with heating on plus pregnancy makes your sinus swell. I find neti pots are quite good at clearing everything out and they are safe during pregnancy
