Well I've made a horrendous error so just posting to either get some (unearned) sympathy or give some other sickness sufferers a bit of a laugh.
8 weeks in with baby number 2 and sickness is so much worse than the first one. Generally just nausea and aversion to strong smells.
I have been getting reminders for the last couple of weeks about my dentist appointment and it just did not occur to me that I would need to cancel because I absolutely cannot handle it.
It's a long appointment as well , they really struggled to fit me in so I don't have the heart to cancel it on the day.
I actually woke up this morning feeling OK but I sure did gag when I brushed my teeth!
I'm doomed.

Oh no! Posting to extend sympathy!

I remember reading that dentists are free during pregnancy and wondering how anyone could bare to take it up with the level of sickness I've been through

I'm sure if you're struggling you could ask to reschedule

Dare I say it I think I'll be OK 😅 has been one of my better mornings. Yeah I missed out on the free dentistry as well because I wasn't/didn't know I was pregnant when I booked and paid for it.
I think I will have to tell them anyway at the appointment and just see how it goes.

Just tell the dentist. That’s what I did when I had an appointment during my peak of morning sickness, and I was chucking up several times a day. They are understanding, and can take their time with the examination. Also they need to know as they may not be able to do certain treatments while you are pregnant.

@Negangirlxx yeah that crossed my mind about the treatments as well. It's a couple of different things at the appointment some they definitely will be able to do.
So I guess the dentist gets to be the 3rd person to find out I'm pregnant!

Yeah, I know it’s difficult when you’re not ready to tell people, but for Doctors and Dentists it’s wise to make an exception. I hope it all goes well for you.
