When I wiped earlier I noticed some brown discharge, I had a dig around (sorry if tmi) and saw more brown discharge,
I've tried to stay calm and since then haven't noticed anything in my pants (white so i can see clearly) but have noticed some more very very slightly brown spots when I have a dig around.
Called EPU they said go to GP if I'm filling pads if not watch and wait,
Looking for similar stories that ended either negatively or positively to be honest, just want to know what I could be up against
No cramping

I had brown spotting around the same sort of time and I now have a healthy 2 year old, I think they are only worried if it is red. Good luck with your pregnancy.

Brown blood is old blood. It could be implantation bleeding.

You sound very worried but the lovely Mums here will hold your hand.

With my 2nd baby I had brown spotting early on and also some blood spots at 12 weeks. That baby is 42 now.

I hope it all works out well for you. 💐

I had bleeding around the same time, and have a healthy four month old asleep next to me right now.

The EPU told me the same, to watch and wait for a week. I was too worried so had a private scan and it turned out to be a Subchorionic haematoma. Good luck x

Also to clarify I'm no where near even needing a pad or even pantie liner, I think the nhs will only pay attention if I am to be honest,

Have a private scan booked for Friday when I will be 7&2.

Will keep this thread updated

Spotting seems to have stopped. Will update after my scan

I had some dark brown spotting at 7 weeks. I panicked and booked a private scan and everything was fine. I’m currently 16+2 weeks and had a gender scan yesterday on a wiggly, little baby yesterday.

Wishing you all the best.

Is it normal to have it at nearly 5 weeks well I'm a day off 5 weeks

amipretnant · 10/02/2025 20:21

To update everyone I’ve just had a scan and seen a healthy little bean in there measuring 2 days ahead and with a perfect heartbeat, they cannot see any evidence of where the brown discharge had come from so assure me not to worry for now, over the moon and so relieved I cried the second I saw the heartbeat, I hope everyone else with the same worries gets the same reassurance, worth every penny of my private scan. So relieved I can finally sleep well tonight and not be imagining pain or worrying about the little bean: I know things can change but for now, at least I know they are okay

That's fantastic news OP, I'm so glad eveything is looking positive!

Lyannaa · 10/02/2025 20:29

The same thing happened to me when I was pregnant with dd4. I was 14 weeks - I went for a scan and she was fine. Fingers crossed all is ok.

Hi I don't think any bleeding is ideal but it can be normal, I would rest up as much as you can
Hope all goes okay

@amipretnant thank you I'm still testing positive but the lines have gone fainter but the digital says yes so I don't know what to think
