Can having sick leave before your maternity leave affect your pay

I am 30 weeks pregnant and due to take my maternity leave from April and use some holidays before hand. However at the moment I am finding my job very stressful and I'm not sleeping much at night which is making the stress worse, I am thinking of getting a sick note from my doctor so I can take a week or 2 off. Does anybody know if this will affect how much I will get from my maternity pay ? As it says it goes on your average weekly earnings but not sure when that is calculated from ? TIA

You are passed the weeks that are counted, can’t remember exactly but you have to count back something like 15 weeks from due date then come forward to next pay day. Ds was born in May and it was Nov/dec that was used. Be careful though as work can make you start maternity leave early if it’s pregnancy related sick leave

It's normally calculated on the 8 weeks of pay prior to the 25th week of pregnancy so weeks 17-25 or the 3 months worth of pay slips prior to the 25th week if paid monthly. Being off sick at 30 weeks shouldn't affect your maternity pay (I'm assuming you get statutory sick pay and statutory maternity pay)

Maternity leave can only be started early if you're off for a pregnancy related reason in the last 4 weeks of pregnancy I.e. 36 weeks pregnant
