Went to ED for a gush of blood yesterday lunch, no more bleeding after that. They found a 4cm hematoma sac which has grown 1.5cm from 3 and a half weeks ago which is scary but the doctor said the chance of a miscarriage can happen but very low. Now I’m worried, baby was very healthy and growing and heart beat is strong on the scan. Has anyone had a SCH this large and it’s resolved ? Brown discharge slightly this morning, bit worried.

Mine was earlier but a similar size- showed up at 7 weeks and was resolved completely by 12 week scan (more like 13 weeks)- they couldn’t even see it. I had one a&e trip with contractions and what I assumed was a miscarriage it was so much blood, and then a smaller painless bleed a week later. I found advice contradictory about how to manage it, but I did make a point of “taking it easy” and not lifting my older child etc. My understanding when I looked it up was that the later they develop the less of a problem they are usually, so I hope yours is gone very soon!

I’ve also been diagnosed with one - am almost 12 weeks and had light bleeding/spotting since about 6 weeks. Mine is now measuring just over 2cm and I’ve had barely any bleeding for the past month so pretty scared the blood is going to have to make its way out soon 😢 mine is behind the baby so has been hard to find - they didn’t find it until a few days ago! I think all we can do is rest, wait and remember the odds are in our favour! There are negative stories online but they’re definitely out weighed by the positive ones. Have you had your 12 week scan yet?

Hi @MonkeyPlush94 and @DenimPanda

I had one with this pregnancy, currently 36 weeks today. I had bleeding on and off from 5 weeks and had an early scan at my EPU because of it. My hospital did not advise bed rest or even suggested it was anything to worry about really.

Went on holiday when I was 9 weeks and had quite a heavy bleed whilst away - including passing a clot and I assumed that was that 💔 Went for a scan at a Spanish hospital and little bean was fine with heartbeat ticking away.

By my 12 week scan, all was fine and the clot had gone. I’ve known in some cases they can linger for longer but generally all tends to be fine.

it’s just so crappy because it’s natural to associate bleeding with a MC but in most cases, I think all is well :)

take comfort in my thread about SCH’s from the summer :)

Thanks so much, this and your thread is so reassuring ☺️ my uterus is retroverted and the hematoma is under the baby so I wonder if it might start to find its way out once my uterus tilts forward! Just got to keep fingers crossed all will be well with the baby!! Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well, not long now!! 🥰
