Looking for some comfort

Not sure where to turn to, just looking for some comfort while I wait for blood test results.
I will be 17 weeks tomorrow with my first baby. I have had a fever that only lasted one day and a half kept under control with paracetamol.
Yesterday it was completely gone, except…I started developing a flat, non itchy blanching rash on my stomach and torso. Tiny pink spots. Of course ran to the gp that instead of putting my mind at ease (not their fault as they’re doing their job I guess) referred me urgently for bloods to check for Rubella.

I have had one dose of the vaccine in ‘95 (I guess that was standard practice at the time in my country? Not originally from the UK).
I have done the blood test this morning and now I’m terrified I have sobbed the whole day.

Extra info: no other symptoms came with the fever. No runny nose, no swollen glands, no sore throat/cough. Rash started on my stomach and chest, today it spread a bit on my neck, cheeks arms and legs.

I feel like the wait is killing me. What even are the chances of me catching it?

I'm really sorry OP. No direct experience but sorry it has been a sad time. How long do you have to wait?

thank you…the phlebotomist said they’d be ready today but lo and behold they haven’t been processed yet (called maternity triage to confirm). So not sure.

Oh gosh that doesn't help.

Hopefully that means you will hear tomorrow.

I always try to think if it was the absolute most urgent situation that would have you in overnight monitoring etc.

They aren't doing that. You will know hopefully by tomorrow. You are not in the first trimester. They will give you extra scans etc if you need going forward.

Try and find a way to get some sleep and think of it as rest for your body to recover and look after baby.

I know this doesn't solve anything but I hope something helps.

It may be just a simple response to a viral infection. Try not to worry during the wait for results, or convince yourself of the worst - I know it is easier said than done

I really hope so! Hanging in there right now, thanks so much
