Tingling in abdomen after c-section

I'm 10 days post partum and have had a relatively smooth recovery so far.

The one thing that's weird is my abdomen feels relatively tingly when I apply pressure, and it's not changed since surgery. I told the midwife but she seemed unconcerned. Is anyone else experiencing this? Could it be because of all the pushing and pulling during surgery? How long does it take to disappear? I don't remember this sensation from my first C-section.

Yes I had this too. It took along time to go but it did go in the end. I sure someone will come on and tell you why it happens.

Your muscles are knitting together again. It'll happen for a while

It's most likely nerve endings that were disrupted from the incision, etc. It should go away over time. I don't recall how long mine took, but it does calm down eventually.

It’s the nerves, they take months and months to heal, some women never regain sensation there or do years later so it takes time. Tingling is good, they’re rebuilding and repairing.

Completely normal, they've cut through so much and it's all re meshing back together. I think mine was tingly for over a year. The feeling faded but yes the mild tingling stayed for ages. I still get a tiny bit sore on the scar now and occasionally get a weird cramp in that area where it feels like a muscle gets stuck twisted up and takes ages to relax / release itself. I've just accepted it's my war wound lol 😂😆 saying that though, my scar is barely visible and I have to really look to see it. I also suffered from no overhang and my belly went completely flat again with no bulge or indent. I feel lucky, my surgeon was a very skilled lady. She made me feel very relaxed too during it.

Yes I had this with all 3 sections. Everything is healing back together (and not to freak you out, but things can heal back differently - on my 3rd section, the surgeon took a while after baby was out to rearrange several of my organs as they'd moved away from where they were meant to be!).
