has anyone ever experienced a section scar “opening” as such. It’s not really really deep but deep enough and about 1.5cm wide , this is the third time now and section was 7 weeks ago
I’ve been to doctors and they gave antibiotics and said it would heal the first time, just wondering if anyone’s every had something similar and it did heal ?

Have you seen the practice nurses at your GP surgery? They would be the best people to advise on what type of dressings you need and to monitor the wound's progress. If you are already being seen by them and the wound isn't healing then you could ask for a tissue viability referral where you would see a nurse specialising in complex wound care. Every area has different criteria as to what meets the threshold for a referral but it's worth an ask. Hope it heals up for you soon!

Hello,
I had this, I had an infection and opening of the wound which developed 3 days after my initial dressing came off at 7 days. it closed after a week or so and then three weeks later it opened again. It wasn’t painful but it was leaking a lot. I second what the poster above said about visiting nurses for wound care/advice. Im a nurse myself so i was able to manage my wound myself but I think you definitely need support to help the wound heal effectively and preventing further infection, especially as it’s happened several times. I kept my wound clean and covered with dressings which I changed every 3-4 days, sometimes more if it leaked a lot. I really sympathise with you, I was so frustrated when this was happening to me, I just wanted to feel normal again. I really hope this resolves for you soon.

Request a PICO dressing from your GP/midwife. They're incredible and will help you heal when it's struggling to do so.
