Hello,

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and have me 20 week scan on Friday.

This is my first pregnant so I don't expect to pop super early but I just wondered if others didn't have a bump still at this stage of pregnancy?

I've been tracking my weight aswell and I'm up 2kg since the start of pregnancy which isn't alot.

I just wondered if others were the same?

Thank you

Im not as far along as you. I’m 15 weeks but I don’t have a visible bump. To others I probably just look a little bloated! For some women this is normal, esp if it’s their first baby and/or have a tilted uterus.

I felt the same at 20 weeks, also first pregnancy. Was hard to believe /imagine I was even pregnant as I couldn’t feel her yet and wasn’t feeling any different. I’m now 26 weeks- bump sort of “appeared” at about 22 weeks and now I seem to be getting bigger by the day !

I found out I was pregnant at 20 weeks & definitely didn't have a bump! Was on the pill & thought I put on a little bit weight so done a test! It popped a couple weeks later though!

@Wmms I'm also 20 weeks and haven't put on any weight at all (I've actually lost a bit of weight). I flagged this with a midwife after my scan today and she said we're all different, just to carry on eating normally, get a balanced diet basically. I am overweight, though, so assumed that had something to do with it 🤷🏼‍♀️

I also don't have a bump yet, but have read that it's quite common with first pregnancy not to have one for ages. 😊

I could have easily hid my pregnancy at 20 weeks, I just looked a bit fat 😅. Which is ironic considering morning sickness meant I was 6kg lighter than before I got pregnant!

My first pregnancy I didn't have a bump really at 20 weeks, just looked like I'd put a bit of weight on.
I remember lying down for my 20 week scan and my belly was completely flat and I was thinking are they even going to believe me that there's a baby in there 😂

SErunner · 05/02/2025 19:20

I was the same with my first. Could easily pass as not pregnant until about 28 weeks and only gained 9kg ish the whole pregnancy, most in the third trimester. Second pregnancy has been a different experience 😂 it's nothing to worry about.

CatsBalls · 05/02/2025 19:46

I didn’t and was down 3kg by 20 weeks.

Blue2020 · 05/02/2025 19:53

My first was like that, didn’t really notice a bump until 24-28 weeks sometime around there. Even by 32-34 weeks I got comments about it being a ‘cute’ bump and only from 33 weeks did anyone ask about my pregnancy eg at the shop.

Im now in my second pregnancy and had a bump for ages. I think since 14-16 weeks I started struggling to hide it. From 24 weeks I’m sure I have been almost the size I was at 34 weeks. I’m now 29 weeks and feel large. The bump is measuring on track for the weeks though, no idea how since I feel bigger.

sel2223 · 05/02/2025 20:04

I honestly didn't 'pop' until I was about 32 weeks with my first!
Before then I just looked a bit bloated.

I could tell of course but I doubt anyone else would have known if I hadn't told them - it was only the last couple of months where I looked unmistakably pregnant

Thank you all for your responses, seems like it can be quite common then and nothing to worry about so happy days 😊
Thank you
