OHSS - after fresh transfer - how long the symptoms lasted

Hi all, I have OHSS after having a fresh transfer (my clinic weren't expecting me to get OHSS). The great news is, is that i got a positive pregnancy test and will be 6 weeks in 3 days time. I just wondered for those that got OHSS after a transfer and a positive pregnancy, how long did your bloating symptons last? Did they last the full 12 weeks as they suspect? Did the bloating go down at all before the 12 weeks? I look about 6 months pregnant already, but wondering (and hoping) to hear if the bloating went down at all, even just slightly. Thank you!

I had severe OHSS after a fresh transfer, it was about a week after the transfer that I got very bloated and had to stay in hospital for a few days.

I was advised to drink lots of lucozade sport (3L a day) to help reduce the bloating.

I can't remember exactly when the bloating went down, but I was definitely looking more normal at my 8 week scan, but my ovaries were still enlarged (10cm x 7cm) at that point. I was still very uncomfortable and avoiding any unnecessary twisting or high impact movements.

It was at my 12 week scan that they confirmed my ovaries were back to normal.

I'm currently 8 months pregnant and no where near as big as I was with OHSS!!

Oh bless you its awful isn't it! Yes mine was roughly a week after transfer - with 5 nights in hospital, but they didn't want to drain me at all, think they like to let the fluid release naturally.

Glad to hear that it went down around 8 weeks - it's so hard getting used to!

I almost feel that because it's the HCG that triggers and keeps the OHSS, I want to have the symptoms right up until 12 weeks as then I know (hopefully) that the pregnancy is safe.

And a huge congratulations to you - only a month or so to go!!

Congratulations! It’s amazing isn’t it! I’m 13 weeks now, at my 12 week scan last week my left ovary is still measuring 10 cm. The sonographer took lots of images and said she was sending them to the consultant.

I can’t tell what’s bloating, constipation or baby weight 😂 first trimester is a real rollercoaster!

Ahh amazing, bet it was a great feeling getting past the 12 weeks - congratulations!

First worry was not being able to get pregnant, and now it's hoping the the baby sticks and is healthy! All I want to do is have HCG tests every day to ensure all is okay haha!!
