ADVICE PLEASE. So how far along am I? I’m so confused.

My last period was the 25th December.
I believe I ovulated on the 8th of January.
17th January I had a blinker of a positive test.

now I know my pregnancy is dated from the last day of my period, which makes me 6 weeks.

however I had a scan today and they couldn’t see anything - and have said I can only be 4-5 weeks (no more than 5).

so if we dated it from my ovulation date, when sperm met the egg, then yeah I’d be 3 weeks and 6 days.

which makes the scan I had less worrying. Her scan would make sense if we went off when I actually conceived/ovulated (or there about).

just feel frustrated that if I went off my period thinking I was 6 weeks but my scan DID NOT show a 6 weeks pregnancy.

she will rescanning me next Friday. She said she would see something by 5 weeks+… so fingers crossed.

I know I’ve created my own anxiety by even having a scan at what I thought was 6+2 days but I just wanted reassurance….. didn’t get it though. Eugh, I’m so confused.

Just to add : Endometrium and Uterine cavity
The endometrium appears thickened and inhomogeneous measuring 16.7mm.

Hi @Saxfie2021. Sorry to hear you’re going through this. If your last period started on 25th Dec you’d be 5 weeks and 6 days today (based on a ‘standard’ 28 day cycle).At just under 6 weeks it’s still very early to see much on an ultrasound. Were you ovulation testing to confirm you ovulated on 8th Jan? Was it an abdominal ultrasound or a transvaginal?

It was a transvaginal ultrasound. I didn’t do any testing this month what so ever but based on all the data in my Flo app that was the day they believed I would have ovulated.

so really I have no idea when I implanted or ovulated :( so just hoping my dates are just out and everything will progress well.

super tough, this baby has taken 19 months to conceive.

Agree with @BrightLilacCat - you're 5+6 based on an average cycle that ovulated exactly day 14. So it changes things if you're not 100% certain when you ovulated. I knew I ovulated a bit later than average so knew to pull myself back about 6 days from what the due date calculators told me and that added up on scan. It's so early to scan so it's quite common to be out by a few days, and even a few days make all the difference when dealing with fractions of millimeters. Fingers crossed for more clarity at your rescan.

I went through similar. Should have been 6w but couldn’t visualise what they needed to visualise. Assumed I was only 4 weeks or so but I couldn’t have been due to the pregnancy test date. Went back 2w later and HB seen.

Just to update this thread. I have in fact miscarried
