Hi there, there’s a lot of questions on this thread. First I had to leave a teaching job last February for my mental health and have been happiest since supply teaching. I am turning 26 pretty soon. We weren’t planning for a baby initially anytime soon. But we’re both thinking that maybe we can try in the summer. Now the problem with that is unless I manage to find an April start permanent teaching job then I won’t qualify for maternity pay and if I am not going to qualify then there’s no point finding one.
Im not just trying to find one for baby btw. Before we even thought of such a thing ( not that it will happen straight away) I went for one job and it hadn’t worked out and I’ve been very picky the past year so only been to 1 really! I don’t know what to do really because I read that some pregnant women weren’t given much supply roles late into their pregnancy etc so I don’t want to be in that situation as we still need the money and the savings.
Also I had been diagnosed with PCOS years ago, never had a convo with my doctor or anything about pregnancy but it’s know that it makes it harder to conceive. I am on the pill and have been for years mainly for heavy period reasons - about 5 years. I want to stop it more due to side effects but it got us thinking about trying for a baby. Al I likely in any way to get pregnant straight after stopping? I know it could take years or two or never happen for all we know, but is there a chance?
