Hey

I am due to go on holiday in half term when I'll be around 9 weeks pregnant ... is this ok?
The flight is about 4 hours with an hour break in between then the same again on the way home?
Should I be worried will this be ok?

Absolutely zero issues with that

Had trips/holidays at 12 (3hr), 16 (6hr) & 24 (12hr) weeks. 25w now, all is well. Midwife was absolutely unfazed.

It's completely safe in terms of the pregnancy but it can be a bad time for sickness for some women

Im flying at 9 weeks and spoke to the midwife about it - she was completely unfazed by it and said it’s absolutely fine. My biggest worry is just feeling sick!

DappledThings · 03/02/2025 17:39

Not even slightly an issue.

I'm also going away in half term when I'll be 24 weeks! Haven't even spoken to my midwife about it. Airlines don't require a fit to fly letter until 28 weeks, and at 9 weeks they won't even notice you're pregnant. The only thing to consider is sickness may have kicked in by then, which could make flying uncomfortable, but it's not a given that you'll get this symptom.

I don't find out I was pregnant until later than that and flew a few times.

Scentsitive · 03/02/2025 19:25

Yes it's perfectly fine.

Autther · 03/02/2025 19:29

It's fine, as pp said I would've felt like absolute crap at 9 weeks but no other issues. I flew at around 34 weeks pregnant and was able to go to the front of the queue at security on the way home 👍

I went to the States on a 12 hour flight at 12 weeks and was absolutely fine! I was worried about sickness - just bring enough snacks and make sure you stretch your legs :)
