Confused about pregnancy test

I had some bleeding in the night (roughly 13dpo) I assumed it was my period. It was a small amount in my underwear. I also had period pains and terrible heartburn. Took some paracetamol and went back to sleep.

anyway, I soon discovered it wasn’t my period because the bleeding completely stopped. I was curious, so took a pregnancy test the same day, just later on in the day. And it’s come back positive. Is it normal to have such a strong line hours after implantation??

Thank you so much. Yes, it’s really welcome news. But I’ve read so much about how a pregnancy test wouldn’t be positive so soon after implantation… it’s got me worrying about multiples 😅

When I first got my positive, it was also around 13 days past what I expect was my ovulation day based on previous cycles. I also used the same test as you and followed up with another Clearblue test a few days later which was even darker. I spent weeks on end worrying it was twins as I had strong symptoms from the early days. Thankfully, I was reassured that there’s only one baby in here at my 12 week scan.

I know exactly what you mean… First time for me and I wasn’t sure I could manage double the feeds, double the evening wake ups, double the nappy changes. I was also convinced it was twins as I have twins and triplets in the family!

Well… you never know. At least you’re prepared for the possibility of hearing those words. 😂 Hope everything goes well in the first trimester. I’ve dipped a bit in the recent weeks as I’m approaching 16 weeks and still no let up with the symptoms and now on top of the nausea I’m dealing with heartburn and dry-heaving which, for the first time, made me sick last night. It feels like it’s going to be a long 6 months ahead!

Thank you, lovely. I really hope your symptoms ease. For some people I’m sure pregnancy is a wonderful experience, but for most, it can be utterly miserable. Nothing lasts forever though, and your bundle will be worth it all 💐

Defo positive! Congrats! I got my positive at 10DPO. By 11DPO my tests were very dark!

And was there one baby or two? 😅

I had very strong early positives and pregnancy symptoms right away
But I was pregnant with twins.... I wasn't prepared for the news as have no twins in my family
It hadn't crossed my mind strong symptoms and early dark tests could be more than one 😂

Sadly I lost twin A but I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant with twin B ❤️

Implantation bleeding often isn’t a one time event that only happens the exact day of implantation. Implantation can happen from 6dpo to 12dpo on average. But it can happen slowly and in stages. Doctors will often put down any bleeding in the first 6 weeks as implantation bleeding.
Plenty of women who test early will get a positive from like 9/10dpo then get bleeding a few days later. I imagine if you’d have tested 2 days ago you would also have already shown up as positive despite not having had any bleeding yet. Some women never get bleeding, despite implantation obviously happening at some point. Some women gets lots over a few days or even weeks on and off.
A nice strong line around the day of your period is perfectly normal.

Just the one 🤣 not sure how my tests were so dark! That being said, I’ve consistently measured 6 days ahead on all of my scans.. which would somehow mean I conceived on the first day of my period which is impossible! But here we are 🤣
