Hi I just and an early scan at 7 weeks and I have a subchorionic hemorrhage no bleeding - this is my second pregnancy and I've never had this before, or really know what is means. Does it mean I will bleed eventually?

TIA

You might not if it’s small as it may be re absorbed and resolve itself. Mine was discovered early too, I had a scary bleed at about 9 weeks, nothing since then, im 19. It was about 4 by 4cm. Hopefully you don’t bleed.

I had one that was picked up at 9 weeks. I had no bleeding and it had gone by the 12 week scan.

I didn't have a SH but had a chorionic bump, quite rare and carries a 50% increased chance of miscarriage. I had red bleeding etc but baby was fine. Try not to worry too much.

Yes I’ve had this is both pregnancies. My first was quite small and had disappeared by 20 week scan. This time around the haematoma was huge! But again I didn’t bleed and it was no longer there by 12 week scan so assume I’d re absorbed it. Good luck! X

So since this message I have been spotting on and off, no pain though. Think it's the scan as the timing of it all coincides with that? I have my booking appt tomorrow so can speak to midwife then but must admit my anxiety is through the roof! X

Hope it goes well, some do spot a lot. If no pain, the Epu nurse told me it’s unlikely to be harmful.

@CoolBananas21 how did things go for you in the end with the SH? I am 7 weeks and one was seen on my scan yesterday. Thanks x

Hey! It was all fine, I kept bleeding on and off but stopped at about 10/11 weeks and it had gone at my 12 week scan.

it was worrying as I hadn't experienced it before but they are so common and rarely anything but harmless!

im sure it will be the same for you! Xx

@CoolBananas21 thank you for the update, so glad for you in that everything worked out fine 🙂
How heavy was the bleeding for you? I have become a bit freaked out by the amount of bleeding some have described having. I have had two miscarriages, one with very heavy bleeding which was quite traumatic.

Thanks, trying to think positively xx

CoolBananas21 · 24/06/2025 20:02

The bleeding was a lot when I wiped, but it was only when I went to toilet that I noticed anything, it wasn't in my underwear really, maybe a few spots.

when I saw my midwife at my booking appt I told her my worries and was referred to the early pregnancy unit where they scan you and look more deeply etc and it really helped give me piece of mind and not spin out of control. So I would def recommend that.

im sorry you went through the miscarriages, of course any bleeding will be scary but with those two experiences i totally understand why you are freaked out. I would get to that early pregnancy unit and let them reassure you! Xxx

Thank you my love for your kindness and time in replying.
I have no bleeding fortunately so I should probably log off now and stop asking dear old Dr Google 😂
All the best for the rest of your pregnancy xx
