Last period 8th of December.

ovulated 28th/29th of December.

first positive 6th of January.

I booked an early scan for 3rd of February with ultrasound direct Glasgow. Hoping they are decent?

You count from the first day of your last period so just over 7 weeks.

Around 7.5 weeks give or take

@MyUmberSeal so it’s ok to book an early scan for 3rd of February? That’s enough time to see things etc

You count from the first day of your last period BUT this method assumes you ovulated on cycle day 14. You ovulated a week after this, so you are actually 6 weeks and 2 days pregnant. Bear in mind when you go for your scan that the baby should be around 7+1. Your LMP would give you a date of 8+1 so don't worry when the sonographer says 'according to your LMP you're measuring a week behind '.

@Snackler thanks that makes a lot
of sense :)

I wouldn't, I'd push it back a week or two so you think you're 8 weeks.

If you're 8 weeks and you're out by a week (common) you'll still be 7 weeks and likely able to see something. If you book for 7 weeks and you're 6 weeks you might see nothing and end up distraught and trying to get an unnecessary NHS scan and spend weeks in complete turmoil. Until can be rescanned.

If you are very confident of when you ovulated, I would use that date +14 days.

That will be more accurate than LMP which is just used as a guide early on until your official dating scan. It's based on a very average cycle with ovulation on a set date so it's not accurate for a lot of women (my due date is 10 days behind what LMP would put me at as I have longer than average cycles and ovulated late)

If I was you I'd go by the ovulation date instead then book a scan for when that put me at over 8 weeks - the chance of MC drops significantly once you've had a successful scan and seen a heartbeat at 8+ weeks.
