IVF positive test

Hi everyone,

Just a positive test query if anyone has been through IVF.

Second transfer for me. First one was successful and I didn’t do any home tests and waited for the beta blood test 10 days later. This time I’ve done a couple of home tests and they’ve been positive but it may be from the hormones you take on transfer day (synthetic HCG).

Just wondering if anyone thinks/knows whether this line is just from the synthetic hcg or whether that would be a fainter line and it looks as though it may have worked…? This is 4dp5dt.

Hi @Euphegenia it's hard to tell at this stage if you haven't tested the trigger shot out of your system. I used the same tests you've used (as well as others) for my 5 day transfer and first saw a faint positive at 7 days post transfer. Before this the tests were stark white for me, however everyone can differ depending on when implantation happens, your base HCG level and how quickly the level increases. I'll attach a photo of my first lines for you to compare to. I'm 25+4 now. I'd suggest if you'd like to keep testing, to try the same time for the next few days and see if the line gets darker or lighter. I have my fingers crossed for you! X

Hi Zeeha, thank you so much! Congratulations on your pregnancy! ☺️ can I ask what day did you start testing which you got stark white lines for? Now I’m annoyed I didn’t start testing right from the get go to see what happened to those lines! I’ll keep testing over the next few days and see how they go…

You have tested a little too early to know really, OP. You need to wait a few more days and test again. Good luck, this process is so draining and hard xx

From what I can remember from my IVF treatment a few years ago, I think you need to wait 5 days after transfer to rule out the trigger shot. I'd test again in a couple of days and see if it's darker. Good luck!
