Health visitor appointment

Currently 36 weeks pregnant and have my first meeting with the health visitor. Wondering what we are supposed to be discussing? Sort of feel a bit left in the dark and some lady is going to turn up at my house...

I’d assume if they are coming pre-birth it will just be to signpost you to support? My daughter is 9 months old now and we didn’t see the health visitor until after birth so I’m not sure what they will be asking during pregnancy but I know our first one was mainly just her giving me leaflets about safe sleep and asking if I had any questions x

It’s safe sleep etc. I think they took some family history to do with hearing and sight. It can be nice to meet them before baby arrives.

Hello, baby no.3 here and had my health visitor come a couple of weeks ago!

The visit is part of their standard practice, she will go over safe sleeping, feeding, resting, what to expect post natally (visit wise) and also a general just check on your mental wellbeing too. It’s very informal so don’t worry it’s more of a chat! :)
