bleeding after cervical screening??

I had a cervical screening done friday, i was ovulating but prior to this i was getting mild cramps, my period was not due until 2 more weeks. During intercourse i started to bleed since then i’ve been bleeding but only enough to fill a panty liner it’s been 2-3 days and is quite light. What is this??

It's normal to get some light bleeding after a screening/smear. I would only worry if it's heavy bleeding or it carries on for longer than a week

I always bleed and get cramps after a smear test. Apparently, I have a small ridge on my cervix, so it makes smears uncomfortable, but other than that, it has caused me no other issues. I'm 50 and had two perfectly normal pregnancies, so it has been nothing to worry about and is a fairly common issue for lots of women.
