Crazy sensitive skin on belly

32 weeks and bump is measuring really big (in case relevant).

For the last few weeks I've had super sensitive skin on my belly, especially on the top of the bump. If anything, even clothes, touches there it feels like it's red raw but the weird thing is the skin looks completely normal? Not red, bumpy, anything.

It almost feels like it's been chafing loads but there's been nothing to chafe (my boobs are too high up away from the bit that hurts).

I saw something on Reddit where it could be the skin stretching and nerves being nearer the surface.. has anyone had this? Anything you can do? I've been using epiderm cream and Vaseline but that's doing nothing..

I had that during the whole of the third trimester and it was so uncomfortable! I couldn't wear a bra and had to wear loose clothes that wouldn't touch the area.

I'm quite petite so I think there must have been a lot of stretching going on. It only improved slightly when DS dropped towards the end of the pregnancy.

That area of skin was still sensitive to the touch for a year or more after the birth. Wish I could be the bearer of better news but nothing worked for me at all. Oh, actually, I just remembered that being in a pool of warm water helped a lot, but not easy to come by, sorry!

It's worth checking with a HCP-just like any unexpected symptoms in pregnancy.

Eugh thanks @MsMajeika it sounds similar for sure... ffs 😩🤦🏼‍♀️

I'll speak to the midwife @CurlewKate, honestly just assumed it was chafing for the last few weeks so didn't think much of it. It's only been on closer inspection I've seen there's nothing there?!

Ive had this the whole 3rd trimester - didn't have it in previous 2 pregnancies - it's horrible. It almost feels like a carpet burn!
Im sat on the sofa with my big bump out now because I can't stand clothes on it.
No one seems to know what the issue is. I have one bit that's more painful than the rest (top above my tummy button) and gets worse on a night...no one knows what it is it's driving me mad 😂
Wish I had better news or an answer but you're definitely not alone lol

@Posithor mine is also worse at night which is when I've been blindly smothering Vaseline on 🙈 argh sorry you're in the same boat, it's horrible. Didn't have this in my previous pregnancy either.
