Getting pregnant 1DPO

posting on behalf of my friend, she’s currently been TTC however her partner has been away all week and only came home yesterday which was 1DPO, she had ewcm on Wednesday evening - Friday morning and did the deed Friday morning when he arrived home. Her last period was the 9th Jan and is usually 28 days but her last period was 29 days. So with her EWCM starting on Wednesday she believes she may of ovulated on Thursday this is also what flo thinks.

Does anyone think she’s in with a shot this month? I’ve told her not to get her hopes up too much but wanted peoples thoughts?

Yes she is. Obviously we can’t know exactly when she ovulated but you get up to 24hrs after.

Nothing is ever certain unless she tracked with ovulation tests.

Also you can have a cycle where you ovulate later than expected. It happened to me once. I wouldn’t trust an app unless it was backed by data collected with tests/bbt. The cycle I ovulated I had ewcm on my usual cycle days that indicate ovulation, then no signs after that but ovulated 6 days later! Plus that’s the cycle I conceived my son. If I wasn’t tracking I would have said I ovulated around the time I saw the ewcm.

So yes, she has a chance based on what I said above.

If she ovulated Wednesday evening/Thursday morning she likely doesn’t have a chance or it’s slim this cycle because the egg lasts for up to 24hrs, and of that some studies say the egg breaks down before that time. I did read that a while ago though so I can’t refer to the source it’s just what I remember.

If she ovulated late Thurs morning-Friday morning then sure definitely a chance. Then if she ovulated Friday/Saturday yes she has a chance.
