Moments of dizziness/lightheaded 27 weeks

Hi, I’m 27+5 weeks and for the past few days in the evening while sitting down I have had moments of dizziness, like my head felt movement and lightheaded.

I had this at 18 weeks and had a blood test and they found my ferritin was 8 and haemoglobin was 119 I think. So I have been on iron tablets since ~19 weeks. I haven’t had it since starting the tablets until now.

Has anyone else had this at this point in pregnancy? I am also on low dose asprin.

I had my son before and never had any of this in that pregnancy (that pregnancy I was on iron tablets from 8-24weeks) then developed preeclampsia from 30+ weeks.

I would maybe see about getting your blood pressure checked . X

Oh that’s a good point. I do have a bp monitor from after my last pregnancy, the doctor said it would be a good idea to buy one due to being on bp medication for a short duration after the birth.

I just used it and it’s 116/66 so fairly normal. I was planning on not using the monitor but maybe I could check a few times.

Maybe stupid question but have you been eating and drinking enough water. I'm not expert and I'm not pregnant either lol just thinking what makes me feel light headed

I've had this at various times in second pregnancy so taking iron supplements and also have to keep an eye on my BP as it does keep dropping.
Other tips are staying hydrated and have a sugary drink/snack if you feel it coming on

For me it's been mostly feeling lightheaded and needing to sit/lie down but I did actually pass out on one occasion when out with the dog which gave me a scare.

Never had this last time round.

I think I have, the last few evenings it has been in the evening about an hour after dinner so I wonder if it is sugar levels or bp after a meal?

@sel2223 I didn’t have this in my last pregnancy either. If your bp drops do you take anything to increase it? I’m hoping the iron tablets have been working for the iron level.

It’s just odd that I’m already sitting when it happens. I would understand if I stand up or if I’m stood for too long.
