Last night I walked into the door knob in the middle of the night by accident it caught the side of my belly just about the pant line- I am 16 weeks pregnant and today it feels tender and bruised! Will baby be ok please say it’s well protected at this stage! Tried ringing midwife but no answer had to leave message - any experiences appreciated

Baby will be absolutely fine! I am a vet and was knocked over and jumped on by a 60kg dog a few months back at about 14 weeks. I had internal bleeding around my bladder when I went for a private scan but baby was fine. Now 21 weeks

Also should mention I’m rhesus negative but don’t know what blood type baby is yet! Midwife rang back and is not concerned this would cause any harm

I had quite a few knocks at work and and all
Was totally fine - I was told baby is well cushioned in there.

Always chat to your midwife if you have any concerns big or small but your body is a great barrier from harm.

I walked into a door knob at work last week and I still have a huge bruise on my abdomen just above my hip. I didn't give it a second thought at the time 🙈 Anyway, I had my 20 week scan today and the baby was completely fine. Yours will be fine too, they're well cushioned and far from the outer layers of skin and tissue.

I did exactly the same thing in my first pregnancy and I remember feeling so upset and worried. Baby was totally fine and totwlly unaffected. They are well cushioned in there and it’s unlikely to have caused any harm x
