Hi all hope this is ok to post here,
had unprotected sex last month. Took morning after pill next day then….. period was late, took test , positive, worked out I’m 6 weeks pregnant. Very unplanned but for the past few days I’ve got my head around it and have decided to continue with the pregnancy.
however I’m so worried as since at least Christmas I’ve drank everyday. 2 large glasses of wine everyday when I get home from work with our dinner.
sometimes 3/4 on a weekend. I’ve obviously stopped as soon as I found out. But I’m so so worried I’ve done damage to my baby. The guilt is eating me alive. X

I got pregnant on my holidays for 3 weeks with my last baby and I was so worried. I drank almost every night for 2 weeks a bottle of wine with dinner plus lots of beer before I found out I was pregnant. He is in school now and perfect. Try not to worry. I remember crying I was so worried when I found out I was pregnant. The baby isn’t even attached in the early stage the important thing is that you stop from now on.

Congratulations 💚 please try not to worry (easier said than done I know), but at that point the baby is so small that it’s not living from you. The fetal stage of development begins around the ninth week and lasts until birth. This is when the embryo officially turns into a fetus, so you’re absolutely fine 💚

Don't worry. Placenta only takes over at 8-10 weeks and you are not drinking anymore.

@Sausages234 i drank almost every night too. Think there was one night where I didn’t drink on the holiday.

Sausages234 · 23/01/2025 20:19

I did not know that !!! It is reassuring xx

When you think of all the unplanned pregnancies , this is an extremely common occurrence.

Lulu89x · 23/01/2025 20:31

You'll be ok. The placenta hasn't fully taken over at 6 weeks so baby will be ok. As long as you've stopped now and don't drink going forward, you'll me alright! Congrats by the way!

You're fine, lots of us did the same
