1-2 weeks pregnant but confused about dates

Hello all,
my last period was 20th dec, I use Flo app and I “should” have ovulated between 30th Dec 24-5th Jan 25, my period was due either 18th or 19th Jan and never cam (usually 28 days cycle). I tested positive today with clear blue as 1-2 weeks pregnant, does that sound right for when I had my last period? I did have intercourse around 11th-12th Jan, could Flo’s predication have been that far off ovulation-wise?

Hi OP, the 1-2 weeks means 1-2 weeks since conceiving, not weeks pregnant. You go by first day of your last period to count pregnancy weeks. Based on lmp 20 December you're 4 weeks 5 days on an online calculator I just tried. Congratulations!

@remaininghopeful23 thank you for explaining! I guess the Flo app was so off with its prediction of my ovulation

Remember FLO and the like are just apps which base their dates on the previous info you've input about your cycles, it's just a guide and can't be taken as gospel.

Same with LMP. That's the date initially used by the midwife to get an idea of gestation but it's based on an average 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 14, it's not accurate for everyone. You'll get your proper measurements and due date at the 12 week dating scan then LMP won't be mentioned again.

The clear blue digital tests also aren't an exact science but 1-2 weeks is the approx time since conception which would fit with intercourse on the 11th/12th and would make you currently 3-4 weeks pregnant.

I think a lot of these apps are off and the 'could get pregnant' window is much wider than they suggest. DH and I had sex on the last day of my period, didn't have sex again for the rest of that cycle (DD1 was 6 months old and BFing) and I got pregnant with DD2.

@JaninaDuszejko they do seem off, I did rely on it a lot actually and was so confused when I got my positive, thinking surely I should be further along on a test!

@sel2223 thank you for explaining this. So when people on here say they are 5 weeks pregnant for example, they are referring to the LMP?

Either LMP or they know the exact dates because it's through IVF or physically tracking ovulation
