Can anyone help? Over the last 2 days Ive keep getting these really strong pains that, basically feel like ive been kicked between the legs, particularly at the rear end, along with sharp stabbing pain in side. These come and go two or three times a day. Is the baby just laying in an awkward place or is it some wierd thing? Im 21 weeks by the way.

I used to get what I can only describe as a smear test from the inside... it was ds kicking my cervix. Not pleasant as he did it all day long.

oops, forgot to add, that could be what you're getting.

I get these pains also. I've put it down to my fanjo stretching as I don't feel a movement from the baby when it happens.

RIBS, I've had this 2 times before.

I used to have a mirena coil fitted. It was a short, spikey, stabbing pain in my perineum which felt as if I had had a knife rmmed up my perineum and then afterwards small tiny stabbing pains, very quick.

Now I'm pregnant (17 wks) I've had the same 2 weeks back. Stabbing pains in perineum, no matter what position I'm sitting, standing in.

Had enough, got quite scared and called my doctor in London who said it sounds like hormones. Went to see a doctor here and asked him face to face. He scanned and examined me. I told me when and how I felt it. The 2nd time lasting more than 4 hours.

He said that the hormones in the mirena coil and in pregnancy are the same and it's the high dosage of it which the body seems to show a reaction to. No harm for baby, it only hurts mummy

Hope this helps. Should pass soon.

Thanks all.
There should be a health warning in pregnancy. This is my first, I expected the usual aches and stuff but your body seems to turn into your worst enemy! Roll on labour I say ha!!

Oooh - I got that! It's the baby kicking your cervix - feels so weird! It does go though and then he just kicks your bladder/ribs etc. Sometimes you even feel kicks in your back passage!
