Fluconazole during pregnancy

Can anyone help put my mind at rest? I’m currently on a 6 month course of Fluconazole for recurring thrush. It’s one tablet a week for 6 months. There was a gap in me taking this due to a delay in prescription but I have taken them the past 2 weeks. I’ve just found out I’m pregnant. Probably around 4-5 weeks. Everything I read online about taking Fluconazole during early pregnancy says it can cause miscarriage and birth defects. Does anyone have any experience of taking this medication during the early stages of pregnancy. I won’t be taking any more but I can’t stop worrying.

Who prescribed the fluconazole? You need to go back to them and let them know you're pregnant, they can change the treatment. Thrush is often worse in pregnancy so you'll likely need some treatment.

The BUMPS website is useful, the page on fluconazole is here

It was prescribed way before I was pregnant. Will go back to the GP. But I think you can only take the pessary when pregnant? That was certainly all I was given last time
