Flu - 9 weeks

Hello everyone. My husband recently came down with a bad case of flu about 2 weeks ago. He's better now, but I have just gone back to work after being off a few weeks with awful nausea and sickness and fatigue and everyone has been saying how they've been having the same flu and how awful it's been. I've since came down with a bit of a sore throat and runny nose. I thought I was lucky having not gotten it from my husband, but he had been so careful around me to try to not pass it on as much as he could have, going so far as sleeping on the sofa, I guess it would have been inevitable going back to work around everyone who's also been sick.

I'm hoping I don't have it as bad as what my husband and people at work are saying it was like, but how bad can the flu be when you're pregnant? I know we can get the vaccine which I was thinking about. I'm 9 weeks pregnant.

Have you had the flu jab OP? I'm 27 weeks with an awful cold. Honey and lemon are your friends Flowers

I think if it was flu you would know about it. It starts quickly and knocks you off your feet. Hopefully just a cold

I’ve recently been hospitalised with the flu (I was 32weeks at the time). It was horrific. Feel much better now though just very fatigued. And I had the flu jab 🤷🏻‍♀️. Just one of those things I think!

I had the flu when I was probably about 20ish weeks maybe just under? It was the first time i had taken Paracetamol (purely to reduce my temp) in years.
Plenty of fluids and keeping temp under control is about the most anybody can do

The flu is the same if you are pregnant or not (and yes I have had the flu when pregnant). It sucks either way. Just make sure you stay hydrated.
