I had light brownish spotting about 2 weeks ago and got an early scan . Heartbeat was strong, everything looking good. I just had some light red spotting when I went to the toilet earlier, but I don't have pain or anything . I was strugglig to go to the toilet so I'm wondering is thah what caused it... Slight sting in my lower abdomen earlier but not really cramps and not unbearable or anything . I took a picture to show it's not excessive bright red blood or anything . Any advice appreciated please 🙏🏼

I've had 2 pregnancies, bled a lot during both - one resulting in my son, the other a miscarriage (which I'm currently going through).

This time, at my early scan, although we did see a heartbeat, the embryo was measuring 6 weeks, when I should have been 7+5. That rang alarm bells for me, as i was sure of my dates. 4 weeks later I am having lots of bleeding and clots. If all looks good, I'm assuming this wasn't similar for you? That's a good sign.

With my son I had brown blood throughout the first trimester. A couple of times I had bright red blood - one like a period, the other a big gush at night when I was asleep. It was unsettling but he was fine! I do remember it would happen if I strained, so this could be the case with you too.

So it can go either way. It might be worth letting your EPU know you've had some spotting. I contacted them both pregnancies.

I'd echo the PP about contacting EPU. Bleeding/spotting isn't uncommon in pregnancy. Your cervix is undergoing a lot of changes and liable to bleeding after sex and things like that, so this being after a difficult bowel movement makes me think it's just that. But ask your midwife/EPU and get their professional opinion.

I'm really sorry to hear you're going through that at the moment! I hope you're okay. I've not had any more bleeding since last night so I'm hoping it was just due to changes . It's hard to know what's normal and what's not. I had a MC a few years ago and this is my first pregnancy since so I'm trying to be relaxed and positive. I will contact my doctor and EPU if needed, thank you

Thank you for replying. I'm hoping it was just due to that but it's hard to know. Every little pain or anything would make you concerned. I'll contact them today just to be sure.

Good idea to contact them. I had the same symptoms then 4 weeks later worse bleeding and it turns out was a missed miscarriage so definitely have it checked out. Best of luck xx

I'm so sorry to hear that happened to you. I'm hoping that's not the case here and trying not to think the worst xx
