12 week scan booked for 13w+6d

Hi everyone, I am currently 9w+4d pregnant with my first and had my booking appt with my midwife today. She booked me my 12 week scan at the hospital, at which point I’ll be 13w+6d, but I’m a bit worried I may be further along as I don’t know my date of ovulation (one pregnancy app I have says I will be 14 weeks on the date of the scan). Feeling a bit deflated as I now have to wait over 4 weeks for the scan which seems like ages away, and also worried I may miss the window for the nuchal screening test if I do end up being further along. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I might try and ring the hospital tomorrow to see if they can bring the scan forward but I’m not holding out much hope….

Oh dear. I would try to bring it forward, I wouldn't know whether to try to via the midwife or directly with the hospital.

I always have the opposite problem, scan booked too early as I have a long cycle they won't account for despite being told. Not as much of a problem but last time I had to go twice. This time I think I'm 11+2 so hoping to just be in the right window.

Can you query this with your midwife and explain that you might be 14 weeks and you want the combined screening?

With DS I had my scan at 13+3 and right at the start for a moment she said she thought it was past the point of being able to measure for the nt. luckily then measured at 13+5. I’m pregnant again now and they put me two days ahead again but this time I had it at 12 weeks so it didn’t matter as much.

It would be safer being a few days earlier though.

Definitely push for it to be earlier. I was scanned at 13+6, the lab (as they frequently do) cocked up my bloods and they couldn't rerun the combined test as I was then over 14 weeks. Absolute shambles and I made a formal complaint.

I’d definitely push for an earlier date!! I can’t remember the exact dates but I was booked in for 13+ some days but baby was in an awkward position, returned 2 days later to rescan & ended up measuring 14+2, which meant I couldn’t do the combined screening

Hi guys, just wanted to update you. I rang the hospital and they managed to move the scan to two weeks earlier so I should be bang on 12 weeks! Thanks for your advice :)

Ah well done you @ExpectingMama
So I went for mine today- too early! I thought I was 11+2, measured 11+1. I thought I was ok if I was 11 weeks but they said baby needs to be 45mm to do the screening and they were 44.5 😅
So that's me going back again in a couple of weeks. Bit of a work headache but last time this happened it was lovely to see baby that bit clearer second time around.

Amazing. My appointment was for when I was 12+2 weeks (so I thought) and I ended up being 13+1!

Aww that’s frustrating, but lovely that you get to see baby again soon! 💖
