Potential miscarriage?

Hi

Went to the EPU for cramping and brown blood today

They did a scan and my pregnancy is measuring around 5 and a half weeks - they can see gestational sac and yolk sac but no embryo yet

However I am actually 6 weeks 3 days pregnant. I am 100% sure on my dates as I was tracking my ovulation, I physically felt the ovulation pain and also I got a positive pregnancy test at 9DPO so there's physically no way I could be almost a week earlier than I am

They're rescanning me in a couple of weeks time but I think it's pretty certain the pregnancy isn't viable? Has anyone been in this situation before where you're 100% sure on your dates?

When this happened to me, I was supposed to be 6+5, but they measured me 5+3. They were insistent and very dismissive about dates, but I knew exactly when I'd ovulated and when we'd had sex too, so there was no way they were able to fob me off.

We went back 7 days later and baby had developed a few days. There was a foetal pole, but the heartbeat was slow and baby was still measuring a week behind. As there was a heartbeat, they told us we should be optimistic, but I knew in my heart they were wrong and I'll never forgive them for trying to make us think it would turn out differently.

I say this because they made us wait again before scanning me again to check development, and that time the heartbeat had stopped. I should have been 9+3 and baby was measuring 6+2.

I searched all over the internet looking for stories like mine. The chance of positive outcome seemed to be 50/50, so you never know, you might have a little miracle on your hands. If not though, please know that it's nothing you've done wrong and it is so common. We're all just lead to believe it's nothing you've done. Wishing you the absolute best outcome.

I have just suffered a miscarriage yesterday, after having similar. Although for me, it was measuring a whole 12 days behind. This was 4 weeks ago. It has taken 4 weeks for a miscarriage to happen. We saw a heartbeat on the scan and I should have been 7+5 but was only measuring 6 weeks. Like you I was sure of my ovulation date (I ovulated at an average time in my cycle, not late, early if anything. And it didn't work out with when I got my positive test either).
I hope this isn't the case for you but it definitely helped me to not have too much false hope and be realistic. I'm glad I went for my early scan otherwise I wouldn't have had any idea it probably wouldn't last. Miscarriage happened just 3 days before my dating scan!

Update, I was right and I was miscarrying

I started bleeding very heavily on Wednesday all through to yesterday where I passed a very large clot

EPU won't scan me until Friday to check it's all over but I did a test and it's almost negative now

Hoping it's all over. Feeling very down though 😢
