How many weeks pregnant am I ?

Hello, I think I am around 5 weeks based on conception.

last period was 8th of December.
Ovulation was 28th/29th of December.

got early positive at 8dpo 6th of January.

should I go by my last period ? Or should I go by ovulation date? Thanks :)

@Moveoverdarlin hi see that’s what confuses me, I know I didn’t ovulate until 28th/29th of December? But still definitely go with last period? Even based on the fact I know I ovulated in between those days….

You’ll just measure behind at the scans more than likely so as long as you know that and you’re not worried then just go with your period! Or if you’re certain of ovulation you could just count 2 weeks before and say that’s your period.

Yes because that's what your midwife will go on. When you have your 12 week scan that may change based on baby's measurements.

Remember that you are 2 weeks pregnant the instant you conceive. It is impossible to be less than 2 weeks pregnant. With last period 8th Dec you are technically 6w+2d pregnant today but if you are sure of ovulation date 28/29 Dec your baby may be at a development stage more like 5w+3d right now. By the time you are at 40w that 6 days won't make a massive difference either way but the 12w scan will check development and growth and if it's clearly a week different than would be expected from your last period date then they can make a correction in the records.
