I am so stressed. Me and my partner had a break as he had cheated on me. We split up for 2 weeks and I stupidly had a one night fling with someone he didn’t ejaculate inside of me but I’m aware that ‘pulling out’ isn’t always effective. 7 days after fling I took a pregnancy test due to realising my period was late due to the Flo app. The test come back very strong and positive and I did a digital that came back positive and said 2-3 weeks. Could this be the flings or is this my partners baby. We have sorted things out and I just can’t believe I’ve been so stupid and got myself into this kind of disgusting situation. please be kind

Can you add dates or a timeline

Fling was on the 10th and both positive tests 7 days later on the 17th.

If it was only 7 days after the ONS that you got such a clear positive then I'd suggest baby is your partners.

But ultimately a DNA test will be needed to be definite.

Day 1 is the first day of your period. Ovulation is around Day 9 or 10 but latest is Day 16.

If you had sex seven days before your period that's Day 20-22. Your progesterone will have kicked in to tell your uterus to shed if you weren't pregnant. Extremely likely you were already pregnant when you had the fling.

Hi babe I’m not sure it was 7 days before my period. I just took the test 7 days after the fling happened and my period was about 3 days late if I remember rightly according to the Flo app, I am just so angry with myself for putting myself in this situation if this is my partners it would be so perfect. According to Flo I wasn’t ovulating during the fling but I was the last time I slept with partner two weeks previously, just such a mess x

I agree it’s your partners, if you got pregnant from the fling it’s highly unlikely you’d be testing positive at all let alone that dark xx

Thank you so much I so hope so. I’ve had scans etc that match up with said date of partner but I’m just scared as I know they can be a week out and that worry’s me so much

If you were three days late when you tested and you'd had the fling 7 days before then you are definitely pregnant by your partner. It's extremely unlikely you could get pregnant four days before your period is due.

When we get in a panic, we can't always think straight. I imagine you realised you were late, were scared and excited that you might be pregnant, remembered you'd had a fling and then immediately got even more scared that your partner might not be the father.

All the sensible thinking part of your brain was scared off. It's normal.

Now you can relax and hopefully, if it's right for you to continue with the pregnancy, you can enjoy the experience. 😘

Just to let you know, you can do a DNA test from 7-8 weeks. You will just need a blood sample from you and your partners saliva x
