Blood test vs urine, am I pregnant?

Hi everyone,
im having a weird situation where I’m having light bleeding and earlier in the week it was brown, now red. Anyway I took a pregnancy test on Thursday and it was positive. 1-2 weeks clear blue.
because of the bleeding I went to an early pregnancy unit, they confirmed positive with a urine test and then the blood test came back with low hcg 4.6. I think 5 is considered pregnant…
anyway they want to check my hcg levels again on Wednesday but in the meantime I feel like I’m in limbo which isn’t ideal. To make matters more confusing I did another clear blue yesterday and it’s gone from 1-2 to 2-3.
Has anyone had anything like this before? Any advice or stories very welcome! (Good or bad!) just want to know where I stand.

Hi OP, I'm pleased you went to the EPU and they are looking after you. Have they mentioned doing a scan?

I truly hope I'm wrong but I think you need to mentally prepare that this may not be a good outcome for you. Brown blood in early pregnancy can be normal but red blood is rarely a good sign, especially combined with the low hcg.

I had this with my first pregnancy. They are taking two blood draws to check the HCG is increasing as it should. If the Clearblue has increased weeks, then your HCG is likely getting stronger. You feel in limbo because you are, but the Clearblue increase seems hopeful. Hopefully the results are what you want and you have a straight forward pregnancy from here.

did you also have bleeding? I have only had a small bit of brown blood today.
i will be relieved to know where I stand tomorrow, bracing myself for bad news but keeping hopeful!

No, I had no bleeding with that one. I had a little bit of bleeding with one other early on, including a little bit of bright red, but she was fine.
