Does this look like a positive test result or an evaporation line? Did a digital one straight after and was negative.

Looks positive, but did it come up within the allotted time?

IdLikeMyMomentInTheSunshine · 20/01/2025 19:17

It’s not a great picture to zoom in on tbh, but there seems to be a fair bit of pink around the lines, rather than the strip being white, and the test line does seem a bit grey.
Did you dip in a sample or pee on the stick? I know flooding the test can cause false lines.
Can you take a better picture? A closer one so we don’t have to zoom. I’m on an iPad so the pic is quite big, but still not very clear.

Digital tests are less sensitive that is why

ThatFunnyLeader · 20/01/2025 19:29

It’s hard to clear a clear picture due to the light. It is a thin pink line. I can’t have left it more than 1 minute after the expected time. I’m new to all this so just thought a test would tell me straight. Guess will have to do another test tomorrow morning.

That's a definite positive. The digital tests can be less sensitive than the line tests, particularly if you are testing earlier than the day of your expected period. Where about in your cycle are you?

ThatFunnyLeader · 20/01/2025 20:03

I have another week left to go. Just did another of the Tesco ones and it is negative so first one must have been a fluke ☹️

If you’re still a week away from your period that’s normally far to early to get a positive. Especially one as strong as that. Most tests are only designed for the earliest 6 days before and even at that point they aren’t reliable. So you could still be pregnant but you’re testing far too early.

Just wait till you've missed a period and test then

UnhealthyCopingStrategies · 20/01/2025 21:43

If you've got a week till you're due I'd definitely hang on and retest closer to the time. Good luck!

ThatFunnyLeader · 20/01/2025 22:00

I’ve been using contraception so only been having very, very light periods so not 100% sure. Will test again in the morning. Will be disappointed if it’s a false positive.

I can see colour but it's very thin. When I've had a BFP it's been the same thickness as the control line - that could just be because you're testing too early though

Hello
I’m experiencing the same and wondered if you were pregnant please?
thank you
