Earliest you got a positive

Hi i got a positive test today but it seems too early in my cycle so although i got a faint positive yesterday and darker positive today, i just find it hard to believe it's an actual positive!! Here is the test. The line came up with three minutes. I'm just wondering what is the earliest that mumsnetters got a positive.

I got a positive 7 days before my period both times

I got a early positive 5 days before my period was due I done a clear blue it said 1-2 weeks

I got a really early positive with my second. Can't remember how much but I was really shocked by how quickly the line got really dark and I was already feeling nauseous by four weeks!

9dpo so 3+2 🙈

11dpo with a frer but I didn’t test at 10dpo and only used a cheap one at 9dpo that was negative. In previous pregnancies I didn’t test before my period was due.

Thanks everyone. My 'positive' is much earlier that yours. It's only 2 weeks 6 days since my period so unless i ovulated crazy early, the tests must be faulty, surely. Definitely not evaps as both came up with 3 mins.

It's defo possible, I tested positive at 9 dpo I was 3 weeks exactly x

You absolutely could have ovulated any day from cd8, then a minimum of 8dpo for a positive test, so I wouldn’t be so quick to rule out the tests as faulty!

The first day of your period is ‘cycle day one’ or CD1. Ovulation is generally assumed to be on CD14, but it can be later, or earlier. The earliest it is likely to be is usually regarded to be CD8.

The day after ovulation is known as 1dpo (or one day post ovulation). A fertilised egg will travel down to the uterus and become a blastocyst by 5 or sometimes 6dpo. There, it will implant (same day or a day later), following which it will take 48 hours for HCG levels to rise to a level which can be very faintly detected by a pregnancy test.

So… it might be fairly unusual to have an early ovulation but like I say I wouldn’t rule it out. Wait 48 hours and test again. Very best of luck!

No problem 😊 I’ve just had a look back at my tracking, and for my successful cycle I got a positive 3 weeks to the day after my period started… so you are definitely in with a chance!

I had a positive at 2 weeks 4 days ish (I don't know exactly when I ovulated, but that was the earliest I could possibly have conceived, and that was only a couple of days after the end of my period). However, I have always ovulated early (my EWCM starts almost immediately lost period) and have slightly short cycles, I'd already had strong pregnancy symptoms for nearly a week by then... and it turned out to be twins, so presumably my hormones went through the roof!

Positive at 10DPO. I’m sure if k tested at 9 it would also be positive as my test was so dark!
