Hello all,

I am currently 39+2 and a ftm as title stated but no signs of labour. I really want a chance at natural labour hence afraid I might have to get induced as I have gdm and can’t be allowed to go past 40+6 days.
I requested for membrane sweep and scheduled to have it before 40 weeks but I’m having doubts and worried if I will ever have a chance at natural delivery 😔😔. I know most inductions lead to Caesarian section which I really don’t want but nothing much I can do.

Any advises will be welcome.

Sorry, you say you've called triage, that's good.

The answer is... how long is a piece of string! Have you had a show? Any other changes?

I started contractions then had the shits pretty badly - the body's way of clearing out in prep.

I'd light some candles, get into bed and get really relaxed and wait for nature to take over. But definitely keep an eye on the fluid situation. Pop a pad in and check it periodically.

Yeah I was in hospital for 3 days, they were almost about to send me home when contractions started.. I was only 1cm dilated so they broke my waters and put me on the drip.
She obviously wasn't ready to come out but did end up being born within two hours of them breaking my waters.

I've just seen your update, fingers crossed this is it for you! 🤞🏼 Good luck x

My rainbow baby arrived today 🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽. I can’t believe I wouldn’t have to get induced nor go over my due date. Thanks so much for your supportive words guys 🤗🤗

Yes OP that's right, you don't really get signs until it's started. I had nothing whatsoever and then my waters went and they were each born that day. You could wake up tomorrow morning feeling normal having no idea it's your baby's birthday. Although labour can also go on several days just to warn you!

GRCP · 20/01/2025 20:41

Oh sorry just read your update! Congratulations!

Ah fu--. Note to self: don't reply to posts when your kids woke you up at an ungodly hour. Congratulations and apologies for my rambling!
