pregnancy panic - red skin lump appearance

Hi, hoping someone can help quell my panic. I’m 35 weeks pregnant and tonight noticed a pea sized raised dark red lump on my back. It’s perfectly round, and I don’t think it can have been there long as I’ve never seen it before.

Googling has obviously sent me into a panic! Planning to go to the pharmacy tomorrow to get it looked at but wondering if it could be pregnancy related and wondered if anyone had any similar experiences?

Thanks!

Looks like a blood blister. Have you knocked it?

That looks like a pyogenic granule a to me - a benign growth of capillaries which is pretty common in pregnancy. They tend to grow quickly and bleed very easily, and because of that can be problematic so are often removed, but aren't dangerous.

Obviously go and see your GP and get it checked out in person, but I don't think this is going to be anything to worry about.

Pyogenic granuloma *, autocorrect doesnt like that

Thanks so much both! I initially did wonder about a blood blister, but then stumbled across

Pyogenic granulomas and am hoping that is what it is! Pharmacist today couldn’t help so am going to contact the GP tomorrow morning!
