Hi All, I just wanted some advice please. Me and my partner have been trying to conceive for around 7 months now and it’s not happened for us yet. We have been using the clear blue ovulation test kits and I have got a solid smiley face and also a flashing smiley face but when I take the strip out or the test the line is fainter than the other line and shouldn’t it be the same or darker. Please can you advise whether this would still be a positive test? Many thanks Lou

The sticks for these can't be read like OPKs. Unlike regular OPKs that tear just for LH, these test for two different hormones and the lines don't correlate in the same way.

If you've got a static smiley on it, it's a peak.

I found with these tests I would get my ‘peak’ much faster than the cheaper strips, so I was actually ovulating more like 2-3 days after a static smiley

Thank you for your reply! So if I get the solid smiley would it be best to start baby dancing? Do you know what ovulation tests are best to test ovulation please?

Start doing the deed when you see EWCM and/or when you see the flashing smiley. Ovulation happens any time 12-48 hours after the peak. I have a super fast peak, so I go from zero to peak within 40 minutes and usually ovulate within the next 24 hours, confirmed by temping.

The only way to confirm ovulation has happened is after the fact with temping or an ultrasound. Hence why advice is to have sex every day of fertile week :)

I like the easy@home tests with the premom app!
