Cramps in early pregnancy

Hi, just hoping for some reassurance. I had my first pregnancy over 4 years ago which gave me my first son. I then had 2 miscarriages this year, I believe both were chemical pregnancies. I’m now just over 7 weeks pregnant. I had an early scan yesterday and was told everything looked good and baby was very happy with a good heartbeat. I’m taking vit d and folic acid and 150mg of aspirin each evening. My question is about cramps. I had cramps with my last pregnancy and had them terribly just before I miscarried so everytime I feel a slight cramp I panic. I’ve been getting them a bit more frequently the last few days, just feel like period cramps, not really painful but obviously worrying me, although Google says is normal haha ! Just want to see what other people’s experience with cramps please. Apparently I had them in my first pregnancy too but I can’t remember

I've had cramping at various times throughout this pregnancy and now 30 weeks.
I definitely had them in the first trimester

Blue2020 · 17/01/2025 21:07

Yes I had them in my first trimester this time. I didn’t have them with my mmc or DS in the last pregnancy. I’m now 26 weeks so it didn’t mean anything in my case.

Yes I remember feeling like I was going to come on my period.
She's currently fighting sleep.

Whilst they so tiny your body is already starting to change

I've had cramps on and off since embryo transfer (IVF) I'm now nearly 10 weeks, some have felt quite intense too. Also had a 7 week scan and all looked good. I do think unless they are making you really uncomfortable and/or bleeding occurs then it's hopefully a normal part of pregnancy 🤞

Thank you so much everyone ! I find some days they are barely there at all but nights like today they’re constant. 8 weeks tomorrow and have my first midwife appointment Thursday so will mention it but like you say hopefully all normal in pregnancy

Wanted to join this thread as I'm experiencing the same!

I had cramps when I first found out but today I'm 5 weeks and they are really intense. No bleeding but I am worried. They came on last night and haven't stopped. I know at this stage it's too early for the doctors to do anything.

I am also taking cyclogest as I had a miscarriage last year, so I'm hoping that will help.

Just wanted to say I cramped CONSTANTLY with this pregnancy. Now 20+6 and everything is going well. I panicked too but I really think it’s normal!

I had them as well, first trimester, after two miscarriages. He's 34 now!
Uncomplicated pregnancy.
I'm so sorry you have this worry, and hope you have been reassured by everyone's posts.
xx

Thank you everyone for your responses! The cramps seemed of stopped and the severe indigestion has now started alongside some sickness. Just under 4 weeks till my scan and I can’t wait, my symptoms seem to come and go each day
