I've just entered the second trimester and would love to BF baby when they arrive, however as a first time mum I have no clue if I can..I have both my nipples pierced and dont know if BF’ing is something I would be able to do, have I left it too late to take them out? Will feeding be more difficult? Can I keep them in?
Looking for mums with experience to help me out as the internet is so confusing
Thanks in advance x

I took my piercing out during pregnancy. It's not too late at all. It might have been a coincidence but my son always preferred the other boob that had never been pierced and went on to only feed from that side since about 8 months. However ultimately we are able to exclusively breastfeed and am still going at 19 months. You might find you start to get sore and will want to remove them anyway. I found it closed up very quickly. Good luck!x

I took mine out at the end of the second trimester, so around 28 weeks, and breastfeeding is going fine for us! Milk does come out of the piercing holes sometimes but it doesn't effect anything.

The only downside is that I miss my piercings now! Unfortunately you can't keep them in if you're breastfeeding, unless you took them out to feed everytime and you're honestly not going to want that. Plus I can't imagine having my piercings in when your milk first comes in and your boobs get so engorged.
