LOW LYING PLACENTA ADVICE

Hi!! Anxious mummy here. I went for a growth scan yesterday as baby girl was looking diddy (turns out she’s approx 3lb so actually big!!) I’m 28 weeks & they told me I have anterior low lying placenta (7mm from the OS) BUT I’ve had multiple scans previously that have said I have anterior high placenta?! How can this be??

Im so worried now and unsure if I should go for a second opinion as how can my placenta have dropped??

advice and support much appreciated!! Xxxx

I had the same comment in one of my scans. It was an observation, not a concern. Never came up again.
If there was any concern they’d tell you to go on bed rest or similar, but they didn’t.
Don’t worry about it and next time you have a scan, you can discuss it with the radiologist so that they can reassure you.

Have they booked you in for a follow up scan? You should have one at 36 weeks to recheck placenta location. It's possible there was an error in judgement of the placenta location earlier on in pregnancy as a placenta can't move down, only up! I think if it were me I'd contact your midwife for a plan of action and see which scan is the accurate one!
