How many weeks pregnant are we?

Clear blue digital 3 plus weeks last night at 18dpo.

last period 8th of December.

ovulation on 28th or 29th of December.

first positive at 8dpo on 6th of January.

does anyone know how many weeks we are? I know nhs go by last period but can I do that if not perfect 28 day cycle ? And based on ovulation doesn’t seem likely I should.

We?

Only one of you is pregnant,.

Anyhoo.

I'd say five/six weeks.

Does it matter?

What is it with mumsnet, this place picks on every little thing people say or if someone says something stupid someone is quick to comment or pounce. It’s full of quite rude people isn’t it ? So sorry I said “we” better call the police.

I can tell you’re not a very nice person and probably live your life on mumsnet so you love starting things for no reason. It does matter actually. And does this make your life better “how many weeks pregnant am I” instead of we :) get a life if you can.

I would say 4.5 weeks using this https://www.whattoexpect.com/due-date-calculator/result/september-26/

if you ovulated 31, you probably conceived a few days after.

Your Baby's Due Date is September 26

Mattered enough for you to comment. Are you always this unnecessarily rude and pedantic or are you just having a bad day?

penguins2013 · 17/01/2025 08:58

Probably ovulated 29th/30th December. And clear blue said 3 plus weeks last night and I thought that meant 5 weeks? It’s all confusing.

I believe that until you have a scan, everyone goes my LMP. Yes, it'll more than likely change. My son went from a 4th Feb due date, to 29th Jan. He actually arrived 21st January, but was always meausuring small, so I think that because he was small, he was actually always going to come sooner than they thought.

Yes so about 4.5 weeks sounds about right to me.

Pigsinblankets13 · 17/01/2025 09:00

Congratulations by the way OP
Nhs will go by 28 day cycle until your 12 week dating scan so I'd go by that until then :)

Ooh that's my birthday! 😆

NHS dates will say 6 weeks from LMP. But by your ovulation you’ll be 5, so if you have any early scans the size will likely imply you’re behind but won’t be a cause to worry. It’s good that the clear blue is showing 3+ already as the 3 relates to ovulation. NHS will likely only adjust for size at 12 week scan.

I often say we as well.

and yes the details matter

We are pregnant is my biggest Ick ever and I know lots of people feel the same, so if you're going to be saying that out loud expect the cringe reaction.

Honestly, if that's your biggest ick then count yourself lucky.

Dear me...... ever heard of just scrolling on by if you don't like something?

sel2223 · 17/01/2025 09:50

Congratulations OP, please ignore the unnecessary comments trying to derail your thread.

The midwife will go by LMP up until your dating scan at 12 weeks but you're right that this isn't always accurate and is based on a very average 28 day cycle with ovulation exactly on day 14. Once you have your dating scan, they will go by actual measurements and you will get your official due date then.

I'm a very nice person.

Darling.

This is YOUR pregnancy. For the good and bad and the expelling a human being from YOUR body that YOU have grown.

YOU are pregnant.

And I wish you the best. I wish you all the good things that this experience and child will bring you.

It's a beautiful thing.

It's your pregnancy though.

You are pregnant.

And, you know, YOU will be disadvantaged because of your pregnancy.

I could be a dick and wish you both the best of luck with birth, breastfeeding, childcare, career, etc etc etc.

But I wish you good. I wish you the best.

Good luck darling.

And I actually mean that.
