We would like an early scan :) just because we feel it’s to long to
wait until 12 weeks lol would 7w 2 or 3 days be enough ? Thanks :)

Yes it would.

Beeches24 · 17/01/2025 08:45

Yeah from 6 weeks it would show.

Yes, my 1st DC was scanned at 5 weeks, there was a heartbeat. Lovely moment!

How sure are you of your dates? Just bear in mind that there's a possibility that if you're less far along than you think then you might not be able to see one and that would be really stressful even if it turns out all is well. Whereas if you waited a little longer to make sure that even if your dates are out you're not too far off 8 weeks, then you'd be less likely to have unnecessary stress.

I did 7+5 in both of mine but was quite sure of my dates.

Depends on how sure you are of your dates.
I had early scans for medical reasons. DS1 didn't have a hb at (my dates) 6+4. That was another 2 weeks for a rescan.
DS2 did at 6+0.
Both arrived on due dates.

Are you sure of your dates? As in you physically tracked ovulation or had ivf for example or are you just going from LMP?

My first scan I would have been 8+2 according to LMP but I ovulated late and only measured 6+1

I thought I was 7+3 but was 7 on my first scan and there was a heartbeat. Was insane :)

It's better if you can wait until 8 weeks.

The risk of miscarriage drops significantly once you've seen a healthy heartbeat at 8+ weeks - between 6 and 8 weeks is still a high risk time even if you've had a good scan
