I had a UTI 3 weeks ago and doc had given me antibiotics while waiting on my results. Because I’m pregnant they didn’t want to take the risk of waiting until it got worse. Turns out I did have a UTI with very minor symptoms. I had another test done at my midwife appointment and it was clear. I started to get irritation again during peeing. I phoned GP again who done the same thing and has given me different antibiotics. I’m just wondering has anyone had UTI this amount and taken antibiotics? Worrying about rh safety in a short space of time even though
my GP said penicillin is safe

If you have an untreated UTI you are at risk of miscarriage/early delivery, so take the antibiotics. Many women have frequent infections in pregnancy.

I had an infection in my tooth when I was pregnant and had the same concerns. Take the antibiotics the risk is way higher with the infections. I was absolutely fine

Well I spend most of my life on various antibiotics and have 4 very healthy children 😊

I was on antibiotics due to a chest infection at 9-11 weeks of pregnancy and I’m currently 26 weeks now.

My son was born early (nothing linked to this) but I met someone through the neonatal unit who had an undiagnosed uti at 29 weeks and it caused her to have her daughter at that point. So it’s definitely worth taking the antibiotics. Her daughter is fine and now 18 months old but it caused the mum a lot of stress and worry having her daughter that early for something that could have been prevented.

I had three weeks of antibiotics in pregnancy due to a really bad sinus infection, well worth it. All was fine.

When I was pregnant I had antibiotics for a kidney infection and pleurisy and then in labour for sepsis, and my daughter is absolutely fine. Six years old and very healthy!
