I’m 4 weeks 6 days and have bad cramping

I was wondering if anyone can help me? I’m 4 weeks 6 days pregnant and for the past week I’ve had bad intense cramping that lasts about 10/15 mins possibly longer, that comes and goes away. When it comes on it’s intense at the front of my pelvic area then it radiates through to my back and I get pains down my thighs, it’s now started giving me cramping on my left side only but still radiating to my back and thighs and no matter what position I put myself in it doesn’t ease up, it’s like a period cramp times 100. It’s taking my breath away making me sweat and had me crying it’s that bad. Too start with it was coming on everything 4-6 hours then easing up but now it’s more frequent (about every 2 hours) and is waking me up during the night from a sleep.
I spoke to my GP and midwife and they both said it’s natural as it’s my ligaments ect all changing and that if I have any bleeding/shoulder pain or it becomes constant then I’ve to call NHS 111. I really don’t know what to do or what it can be but it’s agonising. Has anyone every experienced anything like this and if so was everything ok?
I really need peace of mind, I’m currently waiting on the pregnancy unit calling me back.

I've had cramping on and off since embryo transfer (IVF) and some really quite intense cramping around 5 weeks I was convinced something was going wrong. It didn’t help that it felt like I'd started to bleed so I panicked then when I checked it was just usual pregnancy discharge (thin/clear/milky). My 7 week scan was all good. I've had cramping again in the last few days on and off (now 9 and a half weeks pregnant) but I have a private scan next week anyway so can see how everything is going 🤞if it's not accompanied by bleeding I would imagine things are okay. I hope you hear back soon 😊
