Bloody streaks at 36 weeks- is this a show?

With dd I was induced so I had a show in hospital- and there was no mistaking what it was! But now I am 36 weeks with number 2 and have woken up woth a lot of brown discharge (sorry TMI) and pinky streaks when I wipe. I feel a bit on edge this morning, like something might be happening, but that might just be wishful thinking . Is this likely to be a show or is it something to worry about? I have had dull period like cramps for a few days now.

Sounds like it!

I think you should give the hospital a call about this. It does sound like a show but I'm not sure what the pink streaks are. I hope all is well.

Ditto.

Don't get toooooo excited though - you can have shows some time before labour. Though was only about 4 hours and 2 days with dd and ds respectively.

Sounds like a show to me but as Pooka says it might not mean anything for another week or so. How quick was your last labour?

littlelamb · 05/05/2008 11:26

Thanks. I am waiting for someone to come and wait with me, as dd had been taken out to the beach for the day (hooray!) and I would feel better with someone here. I will call the hospital in a bit I think. Is 36 weeks terrbly early for this to happen? dd was 42 weeks so a bit of a difference. At my last midwife appointment I was measuring a week ahead. Would that make any difference if anything did happen?

Would def get to hospital and get checked. 36 wks still a bit early really.

Buckets- last labour was long. Induction was started on the tuesday night and dd didn't make an appearance until Thursday morning. Although I had a show on the wednesday afternoon and my waters went very soon after. I suppose I am actually more anxious this time round as I don't know what it is like to go into labour naturally, and I was already safe at the hospital when things got going last time.

36 weeks not likely to be a problem so please don't worry yourself. My DS was very healthy 7lbs 3oz everything perfect at 36 weeks.

do go to hospital and get checked out though.

good luck.

oops sorry.

littlelamb · 05/05/2008 11:33

Thanks mankymummy. That is a good size for 36 weeks! dd was 7.14 at 42 weeks, but this one does feel bigger and I got my first new stretch marks this week so I guess I must be bigger too I am going to hop in the shower and try to calm down a bit now. I really do feel very on edge, due in large part I think to realising I am nowhere near ready! I still had 6 weeks to go at this stage with dd so I still have quite a bit to do
