Fibroid Degeneration in Pregnancy

Looking for advice/sympathy/positive stories!

I am 25 weeks pregnant and have three v large subserosal fibroids. One of these is pedunculated and protrudes from the top of my uterus. This enormous bugger (20cm) has started degenerating. I went to the MAC at my hospital in the middle of the night last Friday with abdominal pain like nothing I can describe.

I'm on codeine and managing to the pain - it's subsided slightly but still flaring up and down.

Anyone pregnant and currently experiencing this? Anyone experienced this in the past and can offer words of wisdom or share a little glimmer of hope to help get me through this awful time?

And anyone got any tips for dealing with insensitive comments about the size of my bump? The fibroid + swelling is huge, I'm a bit fed up of family and friends making comments.

On the plus side, I'm hoping that enduring this pain is helping me practise my hypnobirthing strategies for labour! I've never felt pain like this!

Shut down the comments by saying non-emotionally that you have a non-cancerous tumour that is being worsened by the pregnancy. It’s being monitored, but it causes a lot of pain and you’d rather not talk about bump size for obvious reasons.
